Before we get into how to add EVMOS to MetaMask and interact with its sweet dApps, let me clear something up.
What is EVMOS Network?
EVMOS is an Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (a.k.a IBC) that brings the MAGIC of Ethereum to the flexible (a.k.a Interoperable) Cosmos Ecosystem. EVMOS allows to build EVM-compatible assets and scalable blockchains with the speed, flexibility, and fast-finality of Cosmos.
In other words, EVMOS = EVM X Cosmos.
Since EVMOS is an EVM-compatible network, it can be easily added to Metamask. Metamask is a leading Web3 wallet that lets users connect with decentralized apps (dApps) on the Ethereum Blockchain. It’s both a browser extension and a mobile app (iOS and Android).
How to Add EVMOS to Metamask?
Before we get into the specifics, here is our quick 5-Step process to connect to the EVMOS Network:
Step 1: Unlock your Metamask Wallet
Step 2: Click on the Network Dropdown Box
Step 3: Click The Add Network Button
Step 4: Click on “Add a Network Manually”
Step 5: Input EVMOS RPC Custom Details and “Save”
Note: You can also add the network automatically, keep reading to know how!
If you want a DETAILED, step-by-step guide. Here’s what we’ll cover:
1. Can I add EVMOS To Metamask?
Yes. The EVMOS Network is the first IBC-compatible EVM network that allows devs to combine the depth of Ethereum with the breadth of Cosmos. Metamask works with all EVM networks. As a result, it can be easily added to Metamask.
EVMOS, in the words of its founders, is like a ShakeShack burger. Instead of a delicious burger at an affordable price… Evmos gives you a developer-friendly EVM and unmatched freedom with Cosmos SDK.
EVMOS has its own native token, EVMOS. EVMOS is used to pay for gas fees, participate in governance, and power the EVMOS decentralized ecosystem.
How to Add EVMOS Network on Metamask
This section will show you how to add EVMOS network and its native token EVM to your Metamask Wallet. When you add the EVMOS network, EVMOS will be added automatically for you.
To connect to the EVMOS Network via Metamask you need the right custom RPC points: network name, New RPC URL, Chain ID, and Currency symbol.
Before You Start:
- Ensure you have a computer or mobile device with an internet connection
- Ensure you have a web3 crypto wallet like Metamask installed on your browser or mobile device (iOS and Android).
NOTE: If you haven’t installed Metamask on your browser or mobile devices please head to the Metamask official website, download the application, and create a wallet. Always keep your recovery phrase in a safe place.
Without further ado, let’s get started with our 5-Step Guide:
STEP 1: Unlock your Metamask Wallet
The first step is to unlock our Metamask browser extension or mobile Android/iOS device. Click the browser extension (or mobile app) and enter your secure password in the box.
STEP 2: Click on the Network Dropdown Box
When you unlock your wallet, you’ll see the name of your default network (E.g., Ethereum Mainnet) as well as a dropdown arrow. Click that option to see a list of all your available networks.
Note: On mobile devices, select the hamburger menu.
STEP 3: Click Add Network Button
At the bottom of your list of available networks, you’ll see an Add Network Button. Hit this button to add a new network to Metamask.
Note: On mobile devices, go to Settings and Select Networks
STEP 4: Click on “Add a Network Manually”
Following that, you’ll see a screen with the option to automatically add other networks. Unfortunately, EVMOS Network is not on that list. So, we will need to add it manually.
Click on [Add the Network Manually]
Note: On mobile devices, Click on “Add Network.”
Step 5: Input EVMOS RPC Network Details and Save
The final step is to input the RPC network details. RPC (remote procedure call) is a URL that allows you to connect to a server node (for example, the EVMOS server) and interact with that Blockchain.
There are two kinds of EVMOS networks. The production or real network, known as EVMOS, and the EVMOS testing network known as EVMOS Tesnet.
If you are not a developer that wants to test their dApps before implementing them on the “real” blockchain, you don’t need to add EVMOS Tesnet to Metamask.
Note: On mobile devices switch to custom networks and fill up the EVMOS RPC custom Details. Then, click “Add.”
Fill in:
EVMOS Mainnet Info:
- Network Name: EVMOS
- New RPC URL: https://eth.bd.evmos.org:8545/
- ChainID: 9001
- Currency Symbol: EVMOS
- Block Explorer URL: https://mintscan.io/evmos
Adding EVMOS Blockchain Explorer is optional, but it is always a good idea to fill out all of the information and know where to verify all Evmos blockchain transactions.
EVMOS Testnet Info:
- Network Name: EVMOS Testnet
- New RPC URL: https://eth.bd.evmos.dev:8545
- ChainID: 9000
- Currency Symbol: tEVMOS
- Block Explorer URL: https://evm.evmos.dev
After you input all the details, just click “Save” and Voilá!, your default network (E.g, Ethereum Mainnet) will be switched automatically to the Evmos Network.
Now you are ready to interact with the Evmos Ecosystem!

3. Conclusion
EVMOS combines the Magic of Ethereum with the freedom of Cosmos. It is the first decentralized EVM chain on Cosmos. That means developers can use the tools of Ethereum to build scalable and fast dApps on Cosmos.
Adding EVMOS to Metamask is easy. We only need the right EVMOS rpc information to connect to the Evmos Network.
Here’s the 5-step process we use:
- Step 1: Unlock your Metamask Wallet
- Step 2: Click on the Network Dropdown Box
- Step 3: Click Add Network Button
- Step 4: Click on “Add a Network Manually”
- Step 5: Input KCC RPC Network Details and Save
- Network Name: EVMOS
- New RPC URL: https://eth.bd.evmos.org:8545/
- ChainID: 9001
- Currency Symbol: EVMOS
- Block Explorer URL: https://mintscan.io/evmos
NOTE: Do not forget to store your coins safely on a hardware wallet like Ledger Nano X, Trezor T, and Safepal.
