The first time I ever heard about Oasis (the COIN not the BAND) was on crypto Twitter. Privacy is one of the greatest challenges to blockchain adoption.
Crypto Twitter was excited about this new project with built-in privacy features, scalability, and versatility. Some have even dubbed it an “Ethereum killer” since it combines the best of Ethereum and Polkadot with a new important feature: Privacy.
The Oasis Network is perfect for enabling private, scalable decentralized Finance (DeFi) apps and bringing Web 3.0 one step further. Its native token is ROSE.
If you are looking to add Oasis to Metamask (to your Desktop and Mobile devices), this guide is for you!

1. How to Add Oasis Network to Metamask
Oasis Network is an EVM-compatible network like Ethereum Mainnet, BNB Chain, or Avalanche so it can be easily added to Metamask.
To connect to the Oasis Network via Metamask you need the right custom RPC points: network name, New RPC URL, Chain ID, and Currency symbol.
There are two options for adding these details to Metamask:
We will cover them both. Pick a method from the tab to start interacting with Oasis dApps and smart contracts!
How to add Oasis Network via ChainList
ChainList helps users connect to EVM-compatible networks automatically. It also verifies the accuracy of the information and custom RPC points.
To use ChainList follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Go to ChainList.org
The first thing we need to do is go to the ChainList official website. Before connecting to any site ensure that the URL is correct.
STEP 2: Search for “Oasis”
In the upper right-hand corner, you will see a Search Networks box. Input Oasis (or Oasis Emerald if you prefer) to display all available Oasis Chains.
STEP 3: Select Oasis Emerald Mainnet and Click on “Connect Wallet”
The search results will show three options: Oasis Emerald ParaTime Mainnet, Oasis Sapphire, and OasisChain Mainnet. Select the Oasis main Mainnet called Oasis Emerald ParaTime Mainnet.
Connecting Metamask is easy. Below the Oasis Emerald option, you’ll see its ChainID, Currency, and a “Connect Wallet” button. Click on “Connect Wallet.”
STEP 4: Unlock your Metamask Wallet
The next step is to unlock your Metamask wallet browser extension and connect the account you would like to use.
STEP 5: Approve & Switch to Oasis Emerald Rose Network
Next, allow this site to add a network. Click on “Approve” to add the Oasis Emerald ParaTime Mainnet to Metamask.
Finally, switch your default network to Oasis Emerald to connect to Oasis Mainnet.
How to add Oasis Rose Network to Metamask Manually
The second approach is to manually add the Oasis Emerald Network by using the correct custom RPC points. This is the most common.
The process is slightly different from method one. To use the manual option, follow these steps:
Note: If you wish to add it on your mobile device (Android or iOS) follow the “Notes” below.
STEP 1: Unlock your Metamask Wallet
The first step is to unlock your Metamask browser extension or mobile Android/iOS device. Click the browser extension (or mobile app) and enter your secure password in the box.
STEP 2: Click on the Network Dropdown Box & Add Network
When you unlock your wallet, you’ll see the name of your default network as well as a dropdown arrow. Click that option to see a list of all your available networks.
Then, click on Add Network button.
Note: On mobile devices, select the hamburger menu.
STEP 3: Click on “Add a Network Manually”
Following that, you’ll see a screen with the option to automatically add other networks. Unfortunately, Oasis Emerald is not one of them, therefore you will have to add it manually. Select “Add a Network Manually.”
Note: On mobile devices, Click on “Add Network.”
STEP 4: Input Oasis RPC Custom Details
The final step is to input the RPC custom details. RPC (remote procedure call) is a URL that allows you to connect to a server node (for example, the Oasis server) and interact with that Blockchain.
Note: On mobile devices switch to custom networks and fill up the RPC Custom Details. Then, click “Add.”
Fill in:
- Network name: Oasis Emerald ParaTime Mainnet
- New RPC URL: https://emerald.oasis.dev
- Chain ID: 42262
- Currency symbol: ROSE
- Block explorer URL(Optional): https://explorer.emerald.oasis.dev
Voilá! Now you are ready to interact with the Oasis Network!
2. How to Send ROSE to Metamask
After you add Oasis Emerald ParaTime to Metamask you might be wondering how to send Rose to Metamask Wallet.
Rose is the native token of Oasis Network that is used to pay transaction fees and execute smart contracts on the Oasis blockchain.
But here’s the catch, you cannot withdraw ROSE from Binance to Metamask directly.
WAIT … WHAT?
The Oasis Emerald is actually a ParaTime network that works independently of the Oasis main layer (The Consensus Layer). The Consensus Layer is the rule enforcer (which accepts transactions from the ParaTime Network), whereas the ParaTime Layer is the customizable, smart contract execution layer.
In other words, “This ain’t the same thing, boy!”
Currently, the only wallet capable to perform deposits/withdrawals to/from ParaTimes is the Oasis Wallet Browser Extension. Binance does not support the ParaTime Network (only the Consensus Layer).
Here’s a quick step-by-step guide to withdraw ROSE to Oasis Wallet:
- Install Oasis Wallet Browser Extension to Chrome
- Sign Up for Binance
- Go to Wallet
- Select Fiat & Spot
- Search for ROSE in the list of assets
- Next to ROSE click on Withdraw
- Unlock your Oasis Wallet with your password
- Copy your Account 1 Oasis Wallet Address (it starts with Oasis1…)
- Paste it on Binance Address Box
- Select Oasis Network
- Enter the amount of Rose you want to withdraw
- Hit Withdraw!
Once you have your ROSE tokens in your Oasis Wallet, go to the ParaTime Tab and click on [To ParaTime] (below Emerald) to send ROSE to the ParaTime Network.
Then, go to Metamask and copy & paste your Metamask Wallet Address on the TO box. Select the amount you want to send, click on Send and Confirm the transaction.
Easy, RIGHT? This may appear to be a large list of steps, but it is simple if you follow along!
3. Conclusion
Oasis is a fast-growing blockchain that provides a privacy layer for Web3. Oasis uses Parachains (independent blockchains) to scale Web 3.0 further.
We have seen two ways to add Oasis to your Metamask Wallet. Automatically via ChainList and Manually via “RPC Information.”
Here’s a quick reminder to add Oasis automatically:
- Step 1: Go to ChainList.org
- Step 2: Search for “Oasis”
- Step 3: Select Oasis Emerald and Click on “Connect Wallet”
- Step 4: Unlock your Metamask Wallet & Connect your Account
- Step 5: Approve & Switch to Oasis Emerald ParaTime Mainnet Data
You’ve also discovered that the Oasis Wallet Browser extension is the only one that can send ROSE to the ParaChain Layer. The first step is to download the Oasis Wallet and then withdraw ROSE to it.
Finally, once your ROSE token is in your Oasis Wallet, you can transfer it to the Metamask Emerald ParaTime Mainnet.
We hope you enjoyed this guide! Check our FAQs if you would like to know more!
